    Got my first package today from Bee Works.  They marched into their new home in an orderly fashion.  Thanks to Kate for all the guidance, and Mike for the nice calm and understanding bees.

    The bees in the second hive have been bearding all week and stayed there even through the rain and cooling down this evening.  Crazy bees.

    Capped brood looks sunken.  Possible AFB?  Ropiness test-if that's the case, the hive needs to be destroyed unfortunately

    So I got home at noon to find a swarm taking place. They settled 40' up in a cypress at the edge of the yard. I climbed up, tied off the branch and cut it off.  Most of them got dislodged on the way down and everyone eventually ended up on the trunk.

    I wetted them down with 1:1 sugar solution, then swept them into a big plastic bin and then dumped them into a new hive. Looks like everyone is happy as they are marching in and there is no one left on the tree.

    First swarm catch and nice to know that at 61 I can still climb trees :)
